We need to exercise, workout for improving physical health just as we need the mindfulness practice for our mind to be creative, to be productive throughout the day, and to be effective at your work. We workout in gym’s and has fitness goals throughout life but it’s important for us to have a gym for the mind. We workout for shaping our body but it’s just as important for mind also. Mind is a muscle we use every single day to be creative, productive, and whatever task you are doing . It’s necessary to feed our mind as we feed our body with food .
In everyday life people have so much work in their offices, in thier homes, these people deal with anxiety, stress, depression and low self-esteem. People tend to avoid the mental health and get’s agressive, sad, feel depressed. We cannot avoid stress and we need to cure the stress from our everyday lives.
By training your mind it helps us to be focused, it helps us to be productive, it boosts our performance. We get hungry so we eat food, we get dirty we clean ourselves , so if we get stressed up we should clear all the stress from mind.
Below are six things to apply in your life so you can experience the difference on daily basis and try some of them out.
1. Know What Really Help’s You Relax.
We have stress ourselves by working everyday in office. We don’t invest the time in ourselves and that’s the important thing we missed out. Focus on what makes you relaxing whether it’s trekking, whether its meditation, whether it’s sitting alone for some hours, or whether it’s just walk. Spend time with yourself. We should have me time in our daily week schedule. No phone’s, no social media, no work nothing it’s just you and your mind. Spend time with our love ones and family. So when you go back to work mode you would be refreshed, energetic and productive also.
2. Good Relationship Keep Us Happy
A study at Harvard University tells us that good relationships keep us happier and healthier periodily. Not how much money you have, not how much work you do, not how much big entrepreneur you are, the biggest happiness is when you have good love and relationship. A study demonstrates that having someone to trust or rely on helps to reduce stress, help’s to be happy, help’s to reduce depression and loneliness. Even it reduces physical and emotional pain, trauma. According to a study loneliness can be felt with friends and in commited relationships. It’s the quality and depth of relationships matters. That means on how much the vulnerabilities and depth is in the relationships. And be with with people who accept real you, that means being able to be who you are. Find 1 quality in one person, dont force yourself to find all qualities in one person. Find multiple qualities in different people. Share with them about what you feel. Be yourself.
3. Focus on Single Tasking vs Multitasking
A study has shown that only 2% or world can accurately multitask and that means 98% of people can’t. In today’s world we do Multitasking and achieve nothing. We stressed ourselves by doing two things together and if it didn’t work we become anxious. So when you eat just eat no television, no phones, no laptops. Just eat and be in that moment, experience every flavour of food, it allows us to digest the food and help body to absorb the nutrients from food. When you are with someone be engaged fully with them, eye contact with them and be in that moment. Single tasking is great way to boost your mental health because it allows your body and mind to do a single thing. Multitasking leads us to be less productive and stressed up. We sometimes think different as same time talk different and do different. It takes your energy, we achieve nothing perfectly. So focus on single tasking vs Multitasking.
4. Exercise and Get Outdoors
A study has shown that daily exercising reduces the stress, anxiety and depression in greater amount. Mental health is always proportional to physical health. Exercise, workout, jog, walk or even hiking reduces stress. There are so many opportunities now get outdoors and move your body.
5. Focus on Education over Entertainment
In 2013 the university of Japan has performed a study that say watching television increases the aggression and lower’s the verbal reasoning ability. And in similar year a study was found that by reading a novel the students has increased the connectivity in their parts of brains. It’s not just applicable to book’s it’s also applicable to audiobooks, podcasts, song’s. These things increases the productivity and focus. It also helps us to be in a present moment. Watching television we escape the challenges but by reading books we Elevate our mind. We just not deal with challenges we grow with them by reading. So focus on education over entertainment, learning helps to relax and elevates, entertainment provides escapes.
6. Focus on Remove Perfectionism
We tend to pressure ourselves to be perfect in everthing we do, whether it’s work, whether it’s writing a blog, whether it’s making videos. We push ourselves we challenge ourselves to be perfect and then the stress starts to develop. In being perfection it drops our performance level. It can harms our mental health, leads to depression, anxiety, stress. Don’t try to be perfect. When we appreciate the things which we do in our lives we tend to be happy and courageous. Ask your friends about yourself. That doesn’t mean you don’t work hard but satisfy your work and appreciate it. Learn through mistakes and move on. So focus on removing perfectionism.
So, test one of these from today you don’t have to do six of these at same time just do one of these today deeply. Mental health leads to betterment of life.
